Traveling is the best way to beat stress and visit some of the most exotic places around. We all tend to plan well for our trips and take utmost care that everything goes well till catching the flight. But, how many of us really bother to plan to cope for in-flight conditions? Well, none of us really do that. Jet Lag is a common sleep disorder that effect almost 95% of the people on long haul flights. Traveling in different time zone creates an imbalance in body's natural rhythm. The common symptoms of Jet Lag includes dehydration, headaches, stiff back, cramped muscles and lack of appetite. Sometimes the effects are even worse and may spoil a couple of days of your trip. But, thankfully there are several ways that can help you to survive Jet lag so that you can prepare yourself in advance and have a good time on board.

Here are a few useful tips to cope with Jet Lag:

Always be well-rested
The first time to combat any jet lag is to take rest before the flight departure. The distance and direction of your flight directly affects the severity of symptoms. Prepare your body to adjust to time time difference at your destination. You can do this by sleeping an hour early each day before your travel date. Try to sleep in-flight, though it's not that easy, but you can take an eye mask and ear plugs with you to avoid any distraction. Even, if you are not able to sleep just try and rest by closing your eyes. In case your flight is due to land at night than reverse the procedure and try to keep yourself awake by reading books, listening to music, watching movies or any other way to resist sleeping.

Eat and Drink Carefully
Whatever you consume during the flight can help you to deal with jet lag or may worsen your condition. Therefore, avoid taking caffeine, soda or any Cocktail as the impact of Alcohol on body is two to three times more potent than on earth. Drinking plenty of water is the best way to keep yourself hydrated.

Keep Stretching
If you are taking a long flight then ideally you should try walking around inside the plane or at least stretch out your legs as often as you can for proper blood circulation through the veins. Moreover, while using connecting flights, walk around the airport and exercise regularly after reaching your destination.

Split-up the trip duration
Long flights usually involve jumping multiple time zones. If possible try to break your journey into two or three legs, it may take you a little longer to reach but you will much more relaxed having done so. Try using alternate means transport like.
